David was born in Portland and grew up in Lake Oswego with his family, until he left for San Diego where he enlisted in the US Marines 30 November 1965, at the San Diego MCRD.
Arriving in Vietnam David was assigned to Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment,1 st Marine Division. David was on a patrol when his unit encountered hostile forces in the vicinity of Co Bi Thanh Tan, 8 kilometers south of Phong Dien. David died as a result of a hostile gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his parents, David B and June C Brandon Sr of 1350 Ridge Crest Lane, Lake Oswego, OR.
