ROBERT DIED IN THE RAPID CITY FLOOD WITH HIS WIFE HELEN AND THEIR SON MARK
Robert Vanderbeek was born December 1, 1929 at Tehama CA, to Hollister Vanderbeek and Lillian Hitzeman Vanderbeek. In the 1930 census the family is in Tehama CA, he has siblings Eileen, Bernice, Joyce, Wayne and James.
He was married to Helen Hage in LaMars Iowa in 1955.
Eileen graduated from RCHS in 1935.
A baby was born and died in 1937 that appears to be connected to be a child of Hollister. Hollister father died in Pennington County in 1970.
Robert worked as a maintenance supervisor for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company at the time of his death.
They lived at 2403 Waverly in West Rapid.
He is survived by on son Mathew and a brother James Vanderbeek in Keystone SD: three sisters Bernice Shirley and Fern Brecht both of Bismarck ND and Joyce Welch of Keystone SD.
