Helen Louise Busch, 97, Villa Ridge, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in Washington. Mrs. Busch, the daughter of Adolph Mayer and wife Katherine, nee Riegel, was born April 1, 1909, in Campbellton. She received her schooling at Campbellton School and St. Vincent School in Dutzow. She was united in marriage to Victor Rohe Oct. 2, 1929, at St. Vincent Church, Dutzow. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1952. On Nov. 30, 1963, she was united in marriage to Frank Busch at St. John the Baptist (Gildehaus) Church in Villa Ridge. He preceded her in death Nov. 1976. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 21, 1952; one sister, Anna Roehrig; four brothers, Andy, Fred, Louis and Raymond Mayer and three siblings in infancy. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, the Ladies Sodality and Ladies Quilters. She is survived by one son, Lester Rohe and wife Kathleen, Villa Ridge; three daughters, Catherine Gardner and husband Virgil, Viola Kopp and Evelyn Feldmann and husband Anthony, all of Villa Ridge; one brother, Adolph Mayer, Rolla; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. A funeral Mass was held Friday, May 12, at St. John the Baptist Church at Gildehaus, Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Kevin Schmittgens officiating. Burial was in St. Vincent Cemetery, Dutzow. MARRIAGE OF VICTOR ROHE AND MISS HELEN MAYER – An interesting social event of the week in the Dutzow community was the marriage on Wednesday of Miss Helen Mayer to Victor Rohe, both popular young people of the community. The ceremony was performed Wednesday morning at eight o'clock at the St. Vincent Church by Rev. William J. Dames. The attendants of the bridal couple were: Adolph Mayer, Jr. best man, and Miss Mary DIckhaus of Cincinnati, Ohio, the bridesmaid. A reception was held in the evening at the St. Vincent Parish Hall. They will reside in Dutzow where Mr. Rohe is engaged in business. Mr. Rohe is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rohe, and his bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Mayer, all of whom are well known residence of the Dutzow neighborhood. The many friends of the newly married couple wish for them much joy and success in their journey through life.
