Oct. 3, 1919 – July 20, 2003
John Robert "Bob" McLOCHLIN, 83, 1415 Washington St., died at 8:48 a.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Hospital emergency room. Born in Morton to John A. and Vernice OLIVER McLOCHLIN, he married Marie K. RICHARDSON Jan. 2, 1940, in Rochester. She survives.
Mr. McLochlin was a retired farmer and substitute bus driver for Rochester Community Schools. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Lake Manitou Moose Lodge, Fulton County Alcohol Beverage Commission, Knights of Columbus, National Farmers Union and he was a director of the Rochester Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. He was an avid bridge player, sports and horce racing fan and former breeder and owner of Standard Bred horses.
Surviving with his wife of 63 years, at home, are one daughter, Patricia Jean McMILLEN and husband Bill, Rochester; one son, Richard A. [McLOCHLIN] and wife Lucinda A., Coronado, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jeff and Nicolle McLOCHLIN, Rochester, John R. McLOCHLIN, Fort Riley, Kan., Andrea A. MARRS, Coronado, Calif., Shannon M. MARRS and husband Tom, Rochester, Brad D. McMILLEN, Colleen K. WOOD and Sheila J. and fiance Bernie Too KELLER, all of Indianapolis; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy WARFIELD, Kewanna, and Jane BEERY and husband Wayne, Rochester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding in death were one brother, Lowell "Doc" McLOCHLIN, and an infant sister.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, with Father Joseph JACOB officiating. Burial will be at Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, where a vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the heart fund or Rochester Community Schools Memorial Scholarship Fund.
