DIED SUDDENLY; ACTIVE IN CHURCH
Mrs. Elwood Zimmerman Passed Away Early Yesterday at Hospital.
UNDERWENT OPERATION
The death occured yesterday morning of Mrs. Lena, wife of Elwood Zimmerman, who, stricken suddenly ill, was taken to the Millville Hospital last Friday when an emergency operation was performed. The case was quite hopeless from the time she was stricken, and her death was not unexpected.
Mrs. Zimmerman was in apparent good health, and was an active worker in the Trinity M.E.Church. Two weeks ago she took a Sunday School class of girls, and taught but one Sunday. She was much beloved by the members of the class and will be greatly missed in the church and social circles with which she was identified.
Sincere sympathy is expressed by the community to the bereaved husband and family.
Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her husband, two daughters, Miss Margaret, who was president of the graduating class of the Memorial High School, 1926, and Miss Dorothy Zimmerman, and one son, Woodrow Zimmerman. Sisters are; Mrs. Evelyn McGuire, Pleasantville; Mrs. Charlotte Kapp, of Millville; Mrs. Edith Bennett, of Bridgeton; and six brothers; Elmer Earl, of Mays Landing; Read and Lewis Earl, of Paulsboro; Curtis Earl, of Haddonfield; Leslie Earl, of Millville, and Ernest Earl, of Newport.
She was 46 years of age, the daughter of the late Samuel Earl, of Centre Grove, where she spent her girlhood at the Earl homestead.
The funeral will be held from the late residence, 15 East Broad Street, on Tuesday afternoon, 2 o'clock. Services will be at the residence and Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
