Mrs. Mary Mattocks Dies In Lexington
Mrs. Mary Mattocks, 83, widow of George Mattocks died Thursday, July 7, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, where she had been a patient for a few days. Death came to release the spirit of this good woman after a long illness.
Mrs. Mattocks is survived by three daughters. Mrs. Elizabeth Sipple, of Beattyville; Mrs. Myrtle Jean Sizemore, of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Grace Updyke, of Heidelberg; three sons, Seville Mattocks, of Detroit, Michigan; Francis Mattocks, Republic of Panama, and George Mattocks, Jr., Lexington; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The Rosary was recited Friday night in the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Therese Catholic Church with Father Imfeld, of Richmond, officiating. Burial was in the Beatty cemetery in Beattyville.
Pallbearers were James T. Combs, Fred Tirey, Jr., Bert Combs, Bobby Gray, Dudley Gray, Hubert Cooper, Charlie Tirey and Lionel Updyke.
The Newnam Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
