Lawrence Elmer Darst

Lawrence Elmer Darst 54, of Long Bottom passed away Thursday December 29, 2005 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born on October 21, 1951 in Mason, WV, the son of the late Budd Junior Darst and Pauline Snowden of Pomeroy.

He was an Employee of Consol Energy, formerly Southern Ohio Coal, as a Maintenance Foreman for 30 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2171, Pomeroy, Ohio.

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife Carolyn Darst; daughter, Lisa (Greg) Cunningham of Pomeroy; stepchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Fife of Cheshire and David Banks of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Larissa and Zachary Cunningham, Abbie Fife; brothers, Rex (Brenda) Darst of Syracuse and Steven (Dixie) Sayre of Middleport; sisters, Patricia (Rick) Booth of Zaleski and Ellen (Robert) McClure of Pomeroy; special friend Fred Simmons; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by a niece Shelley Smith.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 3, 2006 at the Pomeroy Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home, Pastor Hershel White will officiate. Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery in Chester, Ohio.

Friends may call on Monday January 2, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
