Phoebe was born: 1843, 20 Nov .Iowa City, Wright, Iowa, United States. Father :John Scott In 1838 John Scott age 24 was appointed road supervisor of Pioneers district , Cedar County. A paid position. Roads were being cut out of the Wilderness. John Scott of Cedar County was the Grand Master of the Masonic lodge there. Active in his Community. Her Mother: was Charlotte Potts daughter of James Wessell Potts son of James and Sarah( Wessell) Potts(who was born Sept. 16 1728, in Oxford Township, Philadelphia County. And died Dec. 31, 1859 at Des Moines, Iowa.) He married Margaret Stroud, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Stroud in 1812. He was a farmer and lived for a number of years in Chester County, Pa. From there to Northern Indiana, and later to Iowa, then a Territory and still occupied by Indians. In the War of 1812, he was a First Lieutenant in Capt. William D. Stewarts Company.Children : Jesse 1813-1859/ Thomas Stroud 1815-/Charlotte 1816-June 18,1850/ Sarah Louisa 1817-1844 /Margaret 1819-1849 Rachel 1821-1839/Phoebe 1824-1882 / James Potts son of Samuel and Anne (Rush) Potts was born June 17, 1752 at German Town Pennsylvania. He was brought up to the trade of a Blacksmith and carried on the business for many years.. He engaged in farming and peach culture. He was man of small stature, intelligent, of an active nervous temperament, and popular among his neighbors. In the War of Revolution, He was in the Pennsylvania Militia. He entered the Army as a private but on September 8, 1776, received a commission as Second Lieutenant of a company of Foot (men )in Colonel John Moore's Battalion in the Flying Camp. He served in New Jersey and around New York. On May 12, 1777 he received a commission as Second Lieutenant of a Company of Foot (men) in the 3rd Battalion of Militia of Philadelphia County. He kept up his interest in Military and Public affairs and received several commissions as Captain and Major. He married Sarah Wessell. Children: Rachel 1778-1861/Triplet Sons ALL died at birth /Hannah 1780-1789/James Wessell 1782-1859/Ann 1786-1867/Eliza 1787- 1867

David died before her , she saw one Son accidentally shoot and kill another son, by a 3rd sons hunting gun while they looked at him take his coat off after coming in from a hunt. She was put in an to a Asylum because of her mental state. She was never the same although she was able to live with her family .
