Pekin Daily Times, 25 April 1960, page 2, column 1:

Erhardt A. Johannes, of 348 Charlotte street, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday in the Snyder Convalescent Home, following an illness of two months' duration.

He had been in failing health for several years prior to his death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston Funeral Home.

Rev. Charles E. Randle, pastor of First Congregational Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Friends may call at Preston's this evening and until time of services.

Born in Missouri May 31, 1883, he was the son of Erhardt G. and Katherine Hoerbert Johannes. His marriage to Cora Crooks occurred at Pekin Nov. 1, 1903. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Cleary, and a son, Garland Johannes, both of Peoria; two brothers, Henry and George Johannes, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Rau, all of Pekin; three grand children and one great-grandchild.

Two sons, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
