James married Lucretia "Lucy" Hobbs on 03 MAY 1792 in Baltimore, Maryland. James is found in 1800 on the Ann Arundel Co, MD census and in 1820 on the Baltimore Co, MD census. He was a Methodist minister and also a shoemaker by trade, and came to Ohio as a pioneer preacher. James' grave at the Oak Bluff/Cranberry Creek Cemetery is at the end of a row with space for his wife's grave to his left.
