Anita Joyce Williams passed away peacefully the morning of Aug. 3, 2009.

She was raised in Hibbard and was a resident of Rexburg, Idaho. Anita was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Emma Ricks and Cassadore Williams. She attended school at Hibbard Elementary School and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg and cosmetology school in Idaho Falls. She earned her associate degree at Ricks College. Anita worked for the Madison School District and Ricks College until her retirement.

Anita was so thoughtful and caring of others. She loved little children and delighted in giving neighborhood children rides on her power scooter. She enjoyed having children come visit her and always had a treat for them. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She planned all year for the gifts she would give the children who attended the family Christmas Eve party. She has brought much joy and happiness into the lives of her family and neighbors. She had a great deal of compassion and spent many hours working on projects for Humanitarian Aide for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which she was a faithful member.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, Glen, and three nieces. She is survived by her siblings, Blaine (Melda) Williams of Buhl, and Jo Ann (Dennis) Christensen and Jean (Jim) Pollitt, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; and sister-in-law, Shirley Williams of Rexburg; and many nieces, nephews and friends who loved and cared about her deeply. The family would like to thank Anita's friends and neighbors and the Rexburg Care & Rehabilitation Center for their kind, loving care.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. A viewing will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services, both at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sugar City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.flammfh.com.
