ELIDA, Feb. 12--George J. Brenneman, 85, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at his home in Elida following a heart attack after an illness of four weeks.
Brenneman was born in Allen Co. near Elida, and on Aug. 9, 1875, he married Anna Ashbaugh who died in 1933. He was married again in 1934 to Belinda Sheets who still survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clara Stemen, of Elida; Mrs. Hilda Hughes of Lima, and Mrs. Pearl Reedy of Indianapolis, Ind.; and four sons, Alfred, of Marion, Ind.; Henry, of near Elida; Abe of Delphos, and Merlin of Indianapolis, Ind., all children of the first marriage; 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Cal Diller of Elida.
Last rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Elida United Brethren church with Rev. C. D. Wright, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery, north of Elida.
