John J McHugh War Veteran Dies
John J McHugh son of the late Patrick & Maria (Curry) McHugh died yesterday at City Hospital. He was born in Worcester and was employed by the City of Worcester in the building department for more than 21 years. He was a veteran of the World War serving 17 months with Co L of the 19th Engineers.
He leaves 6 sisters: Mrs Mary Bickford, Mrs Agnes G wife of Frank J Parker of Worcester, Margaret wife of Joseph Mara, Catherine wife of Anthony Cornette, both of Brookyn, NY, Theresa wife of Newton Middlemas of Chicago and Elizabeth wife of Joseph Gaspar of Boston; 4 brothers Peter of Worcester, Francis of Babylon L.I., NY James & Edward McHugh both of Brooklyn and several nieces and nephews.
A military funeral will be from the home of his sister, Mrs Mary Bickford Saturday at 8:15 a.m. A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated in St Bernard's Church at 9 a.m. Internment in St John's Cemetery.
