Funeral services for Hardy E. Holm. 61, of Mason City, were held Sept. 27 at the Mason City Methodist church with Rev. Emery Roy of Broken Bow officiating.
Mrs. Clarence Mackey accompanied Mrs. D.B. Whitehead and Mrs. Martin Nelson as they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Saved By Grace". Pallbearers were: Ben Thorn, Glen Burns, Ben Ostrand, Cloyd Curtis, Wilbur Stoddard and Lloyd Amsberry. Interment was in the Mason cemetery.
Hardy Edward Holm, son of Herman and Minnie Holm, was born March 11, 1900, at Mason City, and died at his home in Mason City on Sept. 24, 1961, at the age of 61 years, six months and 13 days.
He received his schooling at Beechville school and grew to manhood in this community. He had been engaged in farming and livestock raising all his life. At an early age he was baptised in the German Lutheran faith. He was a charter member of the Beechville Band, which he greatly enjoyed.
On April 2, 1951, he was united in marriage to Bertha Dobesh. To this union were born two sons--Hardy Jr. and Tommy.
Survivors include his wife; sons; brother, Ray of Mason City; sisters, Mrs. LaVea Philpot of Broken Bow and Mrs Gladys Anderson of Valentine; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
