ROGERS -- Funeral services will be held for Joel S. Rogers, of 1806 10th Court, Phenix City, Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church. Rev. Donald Mavity will officiate. The body will lie in state in Britton and Dobbs Funeral Home, Phenix City, until 2 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Sue Layfield Rogers, of Phenix City; his mother, Mrs. Annie Blakely Rogers of Orlando, Florida; one son, Joel S. Rogers III;
three daughters, Mona, Cindy, and Debra Rogers, all of Phenix City; three brothers, Elmer E., R. L., and R. S. Rogers, all of Orlando; and one sister, Mrs. Bob Barber of Orlando; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Vance Dunn, Leverte Grimes, Bill Brown, Dewey Perkins, Jr., Monty Miller, Belmont Lewis, Ernest Thompson, Cecil Bankston, Parker May and A. P. Durham.
