Bessie Marie Everhart, 93, of Highland, died at 3:35 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 30, 1908 in Ross County, the daughter of George W. Edwards and Rebecca Newman Edwards.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Anna Louise and the Rev. Daniel E. Akins of Marshall,Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger A. and Grace Everhart of Highland;six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mary E. Frederick of Colonial Heights, Va., and Cora McCalla of Hillsboro; three brothers, Ted Edwards of Leesburg, Paul Edwards of Lancaster,Calif., and James Edwards of Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. Everhart on Aug. 12, 1973; five sisters, Mildred Edwards, Laura Edwards, Ethel Clouser, Gladys Cohmer and Lucy Edwards; three brothers, Burley
Edwards, Henry Edwards and John Edwards.
She was a Highland County Senior Citizen that was active in several church organizations and was instrumental with organizing the Highland Community Park. She was a charter member of the Wesleyan Church of Leesburg since 1934.
She was a seamstress and a homemaker.
Services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Steve Sokola and the Rev. Daniel W. Mayo officiating.
Burial will be in the Highlawn Memorial Gardens in Washington Court House.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
