I Called Bridgeport Depot Museum. Talked with Mr. Glenn Hill at the Bridgeport Museum – regarding the Confederate Hospital where Joseph L. Almand died. (I had spoke with him in the last few years and had sent him the letter Joseph L. Almand had written his wife. He was pleased to have this letter for the museum.)

Oral history from Glenn M. Hill :
"During the 1920s – early 1930s.......the hospital building was torn down and the brick Bridgeport High School was built. This later became the Jr. High.
Confederate graves were left intact. Known, Union soldier's remains were moved to Chattanooga Tennessee.
Early 1930s, when they were creating the football field; bones were unearthed. PE students collected the bones and they were placed in a large box and buried."

**************In 2017 - our YDNA was done for our Almand family.
Our name is not ALMAND/ALMOND or any variations of this name.
We can only trace (with proofs) our family line back to Thomas Almand, Sr. born 1762 who married Annice Ussery.
