Parley "Chuck" Grandin Smout was born on October 15, 1931 to Parley L. and Bernie Smout and raised in Ririe, Idaho. He passed away peacefully on January 19th at his
home surrounded by his family. He married LaRonda Findlay in February 1955 and united with this family were LaRonda's three children, Karen, Mike, and Sheila. They had three children together, Sherry, Jay and Tammy. LaRonda preceded him in death in May 1983. He then married Bertie Adams and later divorced. In December 1990, he married Jennae Edwards. With this marriage, the family welcomed Jennae's children, Scott, Brian and Tracy.
Chuck served in the United States Air Force for four years and then joined the United States Air Force Reserves where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a flight
engineer for C-124 aircraft and enjoyed his missions abroad. He worked at Hill AFB as a civilian employee for many years and retired in 1985. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
The family would like to thank Sherry for all her time and devotion in caring for our husband, father and grandfather over the past few months. We would also like to thank Dr.
Sadler and the nurses at Lakeview Hospital, friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife, Jennae, children Sherry (Vance) Jarvis, Jay (Patti) Smout,Tammy (Barry) Chalcroft, stepchildren Karen (John) Little, Mike (Carol) Stone, Seila Stone, Scott Johnson, Tracy Johnson (Bruce) and Brian (Hailey) Johnson, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaRonda, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., at the Lakeview Ward Chapel, 455 S. 1200 E., Bountiful. Friends and family may visit Monday, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, or Tuesday
from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Lakeview Ward Chapel prior to the services. Interment will be at the Bloomington Cemetery, Idaho at 3:00 p.m.
