Samuel EMBREE, son of Joseph and Deborah (Lawrence) Embree
Born; West Farms, Westchester Co., New York
Married; Sarah HYATT in Westcester Co., NY on 11 Jan 1771

Became a member of local Loyalist Militia where he served as an officer. Following the end of the American Revolution he and family emigrated to Nova Scotia from New York the summer of 1783 where by 1785 he had received a land grant in Cumberland Co. from the British.

Died; Amherst, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia, Canada about 1800. Estate settled in 1801 by widow at which time she sold the land.

Col Embree was survived by wife, and children; Elisha Embree (1771-1842), Thomas Embree (1774 - ), Isreal Embree (1777 - 1841), and Mary (Embree) Lusby (1785-1827)
