Chester Anthony Crochet, 78, a native of Terrebonne and resident of Houma, died at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009.Services were held today at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.He is survived by his wife, Gladys Crochet of Houma; two sons, Allen and wife, Tonia Crochet, and Dwayne and wife, Nichole Crochet, all of Houma; two daughters, Ellen Henry and husband, Magnus, and Karen Crochet, all of Houma; one brother, Carroll Crochet of Houma; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Crochet and Eula Dupre Crochet; one brother, Gerald Crochet; and one sister, Gail Crochet.He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for International Union of Operating Engineers, a U.S. Army war veteran and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
