James Madison Beer - Born January 13, 1837 and died March 17, 1911 near Keosauqua where parents located over 74 years ago when he was only a few months old. Mrs. Beer died several years ago. Four children survive: Harry of Mt. Zion; Charlie of Keokuk; Mrs. Carrie Bell and husband, and Walter of Keosauqua. One son, Frank, born October 21, 1859, died November 21, 1901.
