Mabel B. Miller, 91, of Morton, passed away Tues., March 6, 2018 at Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka.
Mabel was born June 13, 1926, in Morton, to Chris and Katie (Welk) Belsley. She married Carl "Gene" Miller on Dec. 28, 1947 in Washington, Ill. He preceded Mabel in death on July 31, 1993. Mabel was also preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and her brother, John.
Surviving are one son, Carl Miller of Palatine, Ill. and five daughters, Carla Klopfenstein of Sheridan, Wyo., Christa Dorsey of Brighton, Mich., Paula (Robert) Barrick of Morton, Andrea (Larry) Koch of Morton, and Tonya (Dave) Wentz of Naperville, Ill. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mabel worked for many years alongside her husband, Gene, at their family owned business, Miller Bakery, in Morton.
After retiring from the bakery, she worked as a Walmart greeter and was known for her friendly, welcoming smile.
Also, Mabel loved to travel to sunny locations.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton and also enjoyed her time serving as a Republican Election Judge.

Visitation will be held on Mon., March 19, 2018 from 9 to 10:45 a.m., with a funeral service following at 11 a.m., at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Rev. Jeff Anderson will officiate the service. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.

Memorial donations can be made payable to Morton Community Foundation. Bethel Lutheran School Endowment Fund, a component fund of the Foundation, should be reference in the check memo line.
