Vic joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1940, becoming a pilot and rising to the rank of CWO4 Senior Warrant Officer. He retired from the Marines in 1968 after serving during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He flirted with retirement for a few years before returning to work as a semi-trailer owner-operator until 1980, when he retired again, this time for good.
Vic was a voracious traveler who had a great love of the outdoors and an appreciation for the beauty of nature in all its forms.
