George W. McNickle died June 17, 1900. He and Andrew Thompson were struck by lightning and killed.
George was born in Tigerville, Pennington County, Dakota Territory March 21, 1884. The family had lived at Rockerville, Dakota Territory, and moved to Rapid City, living there until June 1891, when they moved to Castle Creek.
He is buried in Bell Park Cemetery near Rochford.
He is the son of James D. and Eleanor Annie (Thomas) McNickle.
His parents were married in Rapid City, SD, March 22, 1883, at the M.E. parsonage; united by the Reverend F.W. Johnson. (Black Hills Journal March 23, 1883)
