Louis Anderson Almand of Morgan County,Georgia married Nancy Annie Sanders of Oglethrope County,Georgia on the 23 January 1888 at five o'clock in the afternoon.They were married by the Rev.John Chaney and lived in Morgan County. Oglethrope County marriage book has his name spelled Louis A. Aldman and her name listed Annie as she was called, however listed as 1890,first date is Bible listing but not of their hand.

It appears that Louis got a division of his father, Issac S. Almand's estate in Askew District of Morgan County,Georgia. It amounted to ninety three acres and listed as parcel no. 7 in the divison of father's property. He sold it for 800.00 dollars, 400.00 down and rest in two payments to be paid January 13, 1899 and January 13, 1906 with eight percent interest. R. B. Aycock paid in full 8 April 1901.

In 1901 he moved to Comer,Madison County, Georgia.His grandchildren all said he was a kindly grandfather who cared deeply for his family. Sadly only one of his children had any grandchildren for him to love. He was my great grandfather and lived on Main Street in Comer(fourth house on R after RR tracks, demolished in 2014/5). His farm was on the Broad River just outside the city limits. His grandsons cut wood for two houses close to the river.Warranty deed was issued for same land as described below Recorded in book C2 folio 444 this 18 day of May 1910 G. Hildcrock(/ name) clerk for both. Warranty deed was for sixteen hundred dollars. Why two deeds?? Quit Claim Deed Georgia, Oglethrope County states This indenture, made this 8th day of Dec. 1913. ? A. Stevens of Oglethrope County and Louis A. Almand of Madison County. Witnesseth, That the said ? A. Stevens in consideration of one thousand Dollars receipt of which is hereby acknowledged....A tract of Land in Madison county on the waters of the South Broad River, south East of town of Comer.Adjoining lands of J.? Matthews, ????, and H.P.Sorrels bounded as follows- Beginning at fallen Hickory on said South River, which is also H.P. Sorrels corner, .... to ?? Matthews corner near apple tree... to Iron stake ... to rock... to post... to willow on said river thince up the meanderings of said river to beginning corner containing thirty four &six tenths acres more or less as shown by plat of same made by E.E.Stone Aug 18th,1908. Filed 8 o'clock A.M.,Jan 15,1914 Recoreded in book G21??. Folio 158 this Jan 19,1914 .I have these deeds.

Obit-Comer News-" Mr. Louis A. Almand Passes: Funeral Monday---- Mr. Louis A. Almand, well known citizen of Comer, died at his home,Sunday morning at 3:45 o'clock, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at three o'clock from the gravesite in Comer cemetery, conducted by Rev.A.E. Logan, Baptist preacher. Pallbearers were Preston Sanders,J.H. Chandler, William T. Almand, Roy Barton, Thomas Almand, Rene Lanier. Bridges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. A retired farmer, Mr. Almand is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Sanders Almand; two daughters Miss Ollie Belle Almand and Mrs. J.H. Chandler, both of Comer;two brothers W.A. Almand and H.H. Almand of Miami, Fla.; two grandaughters Miss May Belle Almand and Mrs. Rene Lanier, of Lexington; two grandsons Thomas A. Almand and William T. Almand, both of Athens, and a daughter-in-law , Mrs. Mattie N. Almand of Lexington. A native of Morgan County, Mr. Almand came to Comer forty-seven years ago, being closely identified with the religious development of his community. He was one of the leaders in building of the Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon; he was active in church work as long as his health permitted. He had many friends through out this section."
