DROPPED DEAD – At about 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Amy Miles, aged 58 years, residing at Lenox, went to the house of John Parkhill, a near neighbor, after a pail of water for her cow. She had nearly reached her house on her return, when she fell in the road. Her daughter, Mrs. James Yale, heard the rattle of the pail, and discovering her mother lying in the road, ran to her and called for help. Mrs. Miles was dead. Coroner Taylor impaneled a jury and adjourned the inquest to Monday next. A post mortem was made. It will be remembered that John Miles, the husband of this woman, was found dead in his bed nearly two years ago – presumably of heart disease. Mrs. Miles was buried at Eaton, Tuesday.
