RED BANK, Nov. 22.--George H. Asay, 94 years, one of the oldest residents of Red Bank, passed away suddenly last night at 8 o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Alida Emmons, 64 McLaren Street, from an acute heart attack. Mr. Asay had been under the care of the family physician for some time. He had been ailing but was not confined to his bed. The doctor was hastily summoned but Mr. Asay was beyond aid when he arrived.

Mr Asay was born April 15, 1856, at Wrightstown, a son of the late Edward P. and Hannah Van Note Asay. For a number of years he lived at Ocean Grove and from there went to Lakewood. From Lakewood he came to Red Bank and resided with his sister for the past four years. He was a retired carpenter. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Brown Asay, who passed away about 12 years ago, was a sister of the late Senator Oliver H. Brown of Spring Lake. A brother, Edward F. Asay, who was 80 years old at the time of his death, died in October, 1937.

Mr. Asay's sister, Mrs. Emmons, who will be 87 years old in January, is the widow of Charles W. Emmons, who was a railroad employe[e], serving many years as a baggage master and conductor. The Asay family is well known about Monmouuth County for its record of longevity.

Besides his sister, Mr. Asay is survived by a brother, W. Burrowes Asay of Everett, who will be 91 years old in February; five daughters, Mrs. Lillian Lawrence, Mrs. Eva Carr and Mrs. Ollie Reynolds of Spring Lake; Mrs. Mamie Hicks and Mrs. Flora Smith of Asbury Park; three sons, Howard Asay of Spring Lake, William Asay of Manasquan and George Asay of Asbury Park. Mr. Asay is also survived by several grandchildren.

Mr. Asay was conveyed to the Worden Funeral Home, East Front Street, and prepared for interment. Arrangements for services will be announced this afternoon.
