MRS. ALICE THOMPSON SUCCUMBS AFTER STROKE - Funeral services will be held at St. Augustine's Church at 9 a.m. today for Mrs. Mary Alice Buckler Thompson, 67, who died Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. at Mary Immaculate Hospital as the result of a stroke suffered Saturday at her home on Kobert Avenue. She lapsed into a coma when stricken and never regained consciousness. She had not been in good health for some time. The remains are at Bosley Funeral Home until the funeral hour. The services will be conducted by Msgr. Joseph D. Gettelfinger and burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson, who was the widow of Edward M. Thompson, was a lifelong resident here, having been born in the western part of the county on March 7, 1888, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Buckler. She came to Lebanon more than 40 years ago and for a number of years operated a rooming house on North Proctor Knott Avenue. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Daniel Z. Henley, New Albany, and a son. G. Hayden (Jack) Thompson, Jeffersonville; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Mrs. Margaret Wilson, and a son, Harry Lee Thompson, U. S. Navy, are deceased. There are two surviving sisters, Mrs. Walter Blandford and Mrs. Lee Osborne, both of Louisville.
