He graduated from Cuba High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force over 24 years before retiring in 1976. He worked for IBP in Emporia for 23 years as a custodian in maintenance.
He was a member of the American Military Society and the Disabled American Veterans.
He married Phyllis R. Hedrick,Sept. 6, 1962, at CapedCod, Mass. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Joshua Harris.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by a daughter, Vonna Blecha Arnold, Topeka; two sons, Timothy Blecha, and wife, Jennifer, Fredericksburg, Va., and Troy Blecha, Miami, Fla.; four sisters, Jean Williams, Hutchinson, Marjorie Lahodny, Lincoln, Neb., Norma Prymek, Shreveport, La., and Karen Andrews, Yuba City, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 13. Services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 14 at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. Burial will follow at Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth R. Blecha Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523.
