Vernon Edward Cryer, 83, of Cottonwood, died June 14. He was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Loco, Ken., the son of Willam Lonzo Cryer and Ina Bell (Wilson ) Cryer.

He was a graduate of Ysleta High School. Mr. Cryer worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company for 35 years.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.


His wife, Lois Cryer preceded him death last November.

He leaves his daughters, Gwendolyn Marie Wieboldt (Richard) of Livingston, Texas, Marilyn Lee Burkhardt of Cottonwood and Donna June Weber (Galen) of Glendale; a brother, Neil Hoarso Cryer and a sister, Joy Voncill Sartain; nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18 in the Westcott Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m..

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, in the funeral home at 10 a.m.. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
