Mr. Knox was born November 5, 1923 in Water Valley, MS. He came to Crenshaw, MS in 1947 to work at the Bank of Crenshaw. He was employed there until he retired in 1987. He was the President of the bank for over 35 years. He was also a general insurance agent and president of the Crenshaw Insurance Agency. He was a Panola County supervisor for 33 years. He was a longtime member of the Crenshaw Volunteer Fire Department. He was a charter member of the Crenshaw Lions club. He was also the Panola County representative on the Board of North Miss. Mental Health Commission for 21 years. He was a Mason and Shriner for over 63 years, a member of the Valley City Lodge # 402 and a member of Wahabi Shrine of Jackson, MS.
Mr. Knox was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Ruth Rich Knox and two sons, Andrew and Clayton Knox, his brothers Richard, Johnny and Sam Knox. He leaves his son, B.
