Born in Ware Shoals, SC, he was a son of the late Rev. R.M. Brewer and Arah Holder Brewer. Rev. Brewer was a retired minister having pastored at Friendship Pentecostal Holiness, Webb Memorial Pentecostal Holiness and Laurens Pentecostal Holiness. He was also a US Army veteran of WW II and last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are two sons, Rev. Jones L. Brewer and wife, Connie of Moore, SC, and Rodney F. Brewer and wife, Lisa of Laurens, SC; three grandchildren, Meredith B. Buchanan and husband, Brad of Greenwood, SC, and Adam Brewer and Logan Brewer, both of Laurens, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Abby, Hannah and Jordan Buchanan, all of Greenwood, SC.
