Walter Herbert Anderson, 60, former Salt Lake County Commissioner, died in a Salt Lake Hospital on December 17, 1955 after a long illness.

A World War I veteran, Walter was past commander of the Utah Veterans of Foreign Wars and past commander of Lt. Clarence E. Allen VFW Post 409. He was chief clerk of the Utah House of Representatives in 1939.

He served as an assistant in the Safety Engineering Department of the State Road Commission. He retired in 1952 from the Internal Revenue Service and at the time of his death, he was President of the 91st Division Association.

He was survived by his wife, Lola Pearl Button Anderson and four sons - Blaine, Ralph, Robert and Jimmy and one daughter, Kathleen.
