She was born in Oconee County, SC, a daughter of the late Jessie A. and Lucinda Hutchins Sweezy. She was retired from Huggins Garment Company and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Joe Hinton and wife, Janie of Anderson, SC, Carl Hinton and wife, Irene of Seneca, SC, and Bobby Hinton and wife, Ann of Ware Shoals, SC; one daughter, Gail Hinton Culbertson Rogers of Ware Shoals, SC; two brothers, Jack Sweezy of Prosperity, SC, and Jessie Sweezy of Saluda, NC; two sisters, Gertrude Pearson of Westminster, SC, and Patricia Cranford of Hawkinsville, GA; a former son-in-law, Marcus Culbertson; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Judy Hinton; a brother, Gene Sweezy; a sister, Minnie Mae Mathews; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
