"Former Vinitan Dies Early
Today In Miami Hospital
-------------
Mrs. Frances Payton, 36, formerly of Vinita, died early this morning at a Miami hospital apparently as a result of an overdose of poison.
Mrs. Payton, wife of Joe Payton, had made her home in Miami since leaving Vinita in 1938.
Officer say they were summoned to her home by a telephone call from Mrs. Payton about 1:30 o'clock this morning. They found her violently ill and rushed her to the hospital where she died soon after arrival. An inquest conducted by the Ottawa county attorney's office pronounced the death of Mrs. Payton as suicide.
Mrs. Payton, was a graduate of the Vinita high school. Her mother Mrs. Addie Stone, died a few years ago. She is survived by her husband, a brother, W.F. Stone, Tulsa; and one sister, Mrs. Esther Muller, Richmond, Wash.
Funeral services are incomplete pending word from relatives. The body is being held by the Cooper funeral home, Miami."
