Daughter of Samuel Orrin Trowbridge and Bertha Ellen Farley. 1st Husband Walter Bliss and Mother of Bertha Ethel Bliss.

Nora M. Ellis, for the past 60 years a resident of Carbon, Iowa, all but the past 6 years being spent with her children, passed to rest at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grace Stevens of near Cromwell, Iowa, Tuesday morning, May 30, 1946 at 6 o'clock, following a long illness.
Nora Matilda Trowbridge, daughter of Samuel and Bertha Trowbridge, was born January 29, 1871 at Iowa City, Iowa in Johnson County. At the time of her death she was aged 75 years, 4 months, and 1 day. On May 21, 1891, she was united in marriage to Rolla a. Ellis of Carbon, Iowa. Mr. Ellis preceded her in death, June 20, 1928. also her parents, five sisters, and one brother.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by two sons and two daughters and three step-daughters. The children are Rolla R. Ellis of Cromwell, Iowa, Harry J. Ellis of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Stevens of Cromwell, Iowa, Mrs. Ethel Evison of Redfield, Iowa, Mrs. Edna Brink of Murdo, South Dakota, Mrs. Iona Carter of Omaha, and Mrs. Mabel Cornell of Los Angles, California.
She was a loving mother and a friend to all who knew her. Although bedfast for the past six years, she was a patient sufferer.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children, 24 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Carbon, conducted by Rev. James Gallogly. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery.
