Allie McQuagge Wethington, 93, of St. George, widow of John Willoughby Wethington died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Colleton Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2005, at 2 o'clock at Peniel Baptist Church, Islandton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1 o'clock until the hour of service on Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Low Country Alzheimers Association, PO Box 80459, Charleston, SC 29416. Mrs. Wethington was born January 1, 1912, in Fountain, Florida, a daughter of the late John Angus McQuagge and Allie Mercer McQuagge. She attended schools in Florida. She was a homemaker and a member of Peniel Baptist Church. Survivors include: sons, Harold Wethington of Lexington, James Wethington of Santa Clara, California; daughters, Syble Benton of Ruffin, Shirley Reavis of Ladson, and Betty Alderman of Walterboro; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; sister, Maude Zingarello of Fountain, Florida. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Wethington and Allie Rahn.
