W. H. Tillson of 510 1/3 Hampshire street has received word of the death of his sister, Mrs. Maitland Boone, who died at her home in Watertown, N. Y., August 26, aged 77 years. She was unconscious for several days before she died. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Watertown.
Mrs. Boone was formerly Miss Emily Tillson, daughter of the late Robert Tillson, and was born in a log cabin where the Stern building now is. The family was a prominent one in Quincy in early days. Maitland Boone was mayor of Quincy about thirty years ago. The family hoome was formerly at Fifth and Jersey streets, where the Masonic temple now stands.
There survive, besides the brother in Quincy, a brother Edward F. Tillson of Colorado, and two sisters: Miss Illa Tillson, who made her home with Mrs. Boone, and Mrs. D. G. Brinton of Philadelphia.

"She was born in Quincy, Ill., 78 years ago and resided there until 1879, when she and her husband came to this city to live. She was a member of one of the prominent families of Quincy."
It also mentioned her husband (original article ran in Watertown):
"Maitland F. Boon died in this city Dec. 11, 1906. He was a large realty owner, having a big tract of land in the western section of the city. Boon street was named after his grandfather. Maitland Boon was connected with the National Union bank for some time, and later went west, settling in Quincy, Ill. Here he was married to Miss Tillson. Mr. Boon was engaged in the leather business in Quincy, and held several valuable contracts during the Civil war."
