George W. "G" Barlow, 94, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at his home. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. today at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday in Harrisville Cemetery in Harrisville.

A life-long resident of Simpson County, Mr. Barlow was a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church. He was retired from the MS State Highway Department.

Mr. Barlow is survived by his wife of 69 years, Pinkie Clark Barlow of Harrisville; two daughters, Ella Magee, and Sybil Yarbrough and husband Kent all of Harrisville; grandchildren, Kim Stringfellow, Kandi Bell and Marty Magee all of Florence, Mike Magee of Atlanta, Ga., and Nita Mecherle of Louisville, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Rett Crowe, Ana and Gracie Magee, Isabelle and James Mecherle, Isaac and Abigal Taylor, and Morgan Bell.
