Ellen M. Kienholz, 68, a resident of Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center, Chippewa Falls, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, due to complications from diabetes and heart disease.
She was born Dec. 15, 1940, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Louis and Katherine (Rothbauer) Nazer. She married Robert Kienholz on June 13, 1964, at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a nursing assistant for 30 years. She was proud to have cared for numerous patients over the years, and she enjoyed "training" the staff at Wissota Health. Ellen enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. She looked forward to dancing with Bob again in heaven.
She is survived by three sons, Travis (Rose) of Eau Claire, Todd (Tammy) of Chippewa Falls and Lance (Jessica) of Eau Claire; two daughters, Traci (Kevin) Bowlin-Wheeler and Lois (Robb) Weaver, both of Chippewa Falls; three brothers, Louis "Sonny" (Maxine) Nazer and Francis (Janice) Nazer, both of Chippewa Falls, and Raymond (Barbara) Nazer of West Allis; one brother-in-law, Gale (Elaine) Kienholz; and one sister-in-law, Audrey (Guy) Weidman; 12 grandchildren, Corey Hunt, Kenneth Gettler Jr., Samantha Osborne, Sadie Braswell, Breanna and Catherine Wheeler, Mary and Amanda Weaver, Dustin and Jasmyne Kienholz and Kaitlyn and Olivia Kienholz; two great-granddaughters, Cora Hunt and Isabella Hunt-Jansen; and one great-grandson, Ryder Braswell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on May 10, 2007; her parents; two sisters, Alvina and Philomene; and one brother-in-law, David Kienholz.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Brian J. Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, and until 10 a.m. Wednesday at Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
