Mr. Hurren was born August 6, 1914, at Hyde Park, Utah to James William and Ingra Toolson Hurren. He was raised and educated in Cache Valley, Utah, graduating from North Cache High School. He also attended Utah State University.

On March 22, 1944, he married Kathryn Albiston in the Logan LDSTemple. They were married for 58 years. They made their home first in Utah where a son and daughter were born into their family. Later, in February 1948, they moved to Idaho where he worked as a dairy farmer. They were blessed with another daughter. He worked for

He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his entire life. First, he served as a missionary in the New England states. He later enjoyed working with the youth, serving as Scout Master, Young Men President and on the Stake Sunday School Board. He later served as High Priest Group leader and as a temple worker in the Boise Temple.

He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years. He loved being with his family and visiting with friends.
