Owen R. (Doc) Tyler, 68, of 823 Applegate Lane, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday [April 4, 1977] at 531 Accrusia Ave., of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Clark County Coroner, E.M. Coots. He was a native of Harrison County and a retired chemist at the Louisville Gas & Electric Co. Survivors include his wife, the former Doris Jean Wilcox; three sons, Frank A. Tyler of New Albany, Riley Brewer of Jeffersonville and Klein Brewer of New York City, and a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Constantine Dale of Clarksville. A private funeral service will be Thursday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
