BROWN, John W., 71, of Manchester, Tennessee died Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at Harton Regional Medical Center, Tullahoma. A native of Manchester he was the son of the late Jarrett Alfred and Alice Lee Walker Brown. He was a diver with Jay Ray McDermott and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Blanton Chapel Community, Coffee County, Tennessee. He served for 20 years with the U.S. navy from 1945-1965. He is survived by his wife, Edna F. Brown, Manchester; five sons, Johnny Brown, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jay Brown, Arizona, Billy Brown, Arizona, Jimmy Brown, Arizona, Jarrett Brown, Fayetteville, North Carolina; two daughters, Donnie Lou Brown, Arizona, Shali Brown, Orlando, Florida; one step-daughter, Sandy Lawley, Pampa, Texas; one sister, Cleo Frizzell, Manchester; numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 2, 1998 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel Bro. Dale Grosch officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Coffee County with full military honors. Manchester Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
