Funeral Services held For Troy Barnett

Services were held Monday afternoon at the Newhebron Baptist church for Troy Barnett who died at his home near Newhebron Friday night following a heart attack. He was forty-nine.

The Rev. J. B. Watkins, pastor of the Newhebron Baptist church was in charge of the services and was assisted by the Rev. Jim Mason. Mr. Barnett was buried in the Newhebron cemetery. Pall bearers were J. E. Culpepper, J. T. Lane, Berry Lane, Charles Little, Ed. D. Waltman and John Sherman. Special music was given by a quartet.

Mr. Barnett was born and reared in the Divide community but had lived near Newhebron for twenty-seven years. He had engaged in farming . Many years ago he united with the Divide Methodist church.

He leaves his wife, the former Miss Emma Womack; two daughters, Mrs. James King of Monticello and Mrs. Eldridge Lambert of Lawrence county; one son, Sgt. Charles R. Barnett, who is now on Okinawa; five grandchildren; four brothers, Talmadege, Coney, Willard and Bennett Barnett, all of Lawrence county and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Lee King and Mrs. Bill Waltman.
