She came to Oregon by covered wagon with her parents in 1851. She was married to William Wallace DOW. She died in 1927, in Albany, Linn Co., Oregon. She had eleven children. It is very possible and likely that her headstone has been misread. One of her eleven children was Oscar A. Dow.
On her death certificate, her father is shown as Asa Stark. The mother's maiden name wasn't known on the death certificate. Her county of birth is shown as Park (at least that is what it looks like), Illinois. I looked up Counties in Illinois, and there is no Park showing at this time in Illinois. However; there is a Park City showing in Lake County. That may be it. The death certificate was signed by one of her sons, Prentis M (can't quite read it as an M or a W, probably M) Dow. I have seen his name spelled Prentice, also and even as Prentois. I am assuming that he signed his own name correctly; so I am sticking with Prentis. Also, death certificate states her father was born in Monroe, Ore. That doesn't align with them coming to Oregon in 1851. I think it is more likely that he was a resident of Monroe, Oregon than born in Monroe, Oregon.
