Ida R. Truesdell HOBART — Mrs. Ida R. "MeMe" Truesdell died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at her home in Hobart. Ida was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Prattsville, the daughter of Chester and Myrta (Benjamin) Conine. Ida married James D. Truesdell on Jan. 7, 1947, in Windham. They mere married for 23 years until his death on June 2, 1970. Ida was born and raised in Prattsville, after her marriage she moved to South Kortright, where she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm. In 1968, she moved to Hobart, where she worked as a private duty nurse in Stamford, Hobart and Delhi. Ida was a member of the Hobart United Methodist Church, attended the senior meal program in Bloomville, sold Stanley Home Products and enjoyed crocheting afghans. Ida was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn J. and Gary Hoffman of Mount Upton; a son and daughter-in-law, Harvey J. and Velma Truesdell of Hobart; four grandchildren, James and Robert Truesdell of Hobart, Carolyn Cole of Middleburgh and James Cole of East Meredith; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Cole, Sidney Burns and Tucker Cole of Middleburgh; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at the family plot in Little Westkill Cemetery, Prattsville, with the Rev. Richard Elder, pastor of the Hobart United Methodist Church, officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hobart United Methodist Church or the Hobart Emergency Squad, Hobart. Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta and Otego.
