FRANKLIN—Garland Alford, 71, of Franklin died at 11:31 a.m. April 17, 2001, at The Medical Center.
The Simpson County native was the son of the late Abner Jasper "Dick" Alford and Leva Dove Wilson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whites Chapel Church in Drake with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is in progress at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home and will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice Alford; three sons, Lanny Alford of Franklin, Larry Alford of Portland, Tenn., and Billy Alford of Smiths Grove; three daughters, Lenda Mock of Oneida, Pat Coffee of Franklin and Peggy Crafton of Portland; a brother, Wilbur Alford of Franklin; three sisters, Ruby Cantrell and Hazel McDonald, both of Franklin, and Lola May Sampson of Louisville.
