He attended Special Education at Columbia Elementary, John Muir Elementary and Longfellow Junior High Senior Developmental classes.
Russell was a music lover, dog lover and an avid collector of albums and CDs. His favorites were Country-Western and Rock and Roll - he hated opera!
Russell loved going to St. Agnes Adult Day Care where he made many friends and enjoyed numerous activities especially going to the gym, playing UNO and playing the keyboards at St. Agnes Hospital. Russell was a very special person and a gentle soul who will be missed by family and friends.
We'd like to thank Russell's caregivers, Edward Alaniz, Dovie King, Maria Castro- DeBrown and Mary Park for their compassionate and loving care, the Right At Home Agency and Hinds Hospice for their support, and Dovie's dog, Sophie, who became Russell's special pal. We'd also like to thank the staff at St. Agnes Adult Day Care for nurturing Russell and giving him a chance to excel.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dogs, Toby and Seymour.
He is survived by his aunts, Alice Renna of Fresno, Ethel Pellendini and Mamie Cecaci of Santa Cruz; numerous cousins and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be made to the Valley Animal Center, 3934 N. Hayston, Fresno, Ca. 93726; or to Hinds Hospice, 1616 W. Shaw, Ste. C-11, Fresno, Ca. 93711.
