VERA STEWART - Funeral services were conducted for Vera Agnus Stewart on Saturday, May 10 at the Church of Christ of Shafter at 11 a.m. with Steve Mann officiating Visitation was Friday, May 9th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

VERA was born on April 1, 1908 in Limestone Arkansas to Christopher and Narcissis Casey. She married William F. Stewart on April 16, 1925. They moved to Kern County in 1936. They had one son, Joye Stewart, who passed away in March 1983.

VERA was very handy and enjoyed crocheting doilies and blankets as well as being a great gardener. (When I smell petunias I always think of Aunt "V" She always had flowers blooming in her yard in season. vg)

VERA was survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Joye, in 1983 and her husband, W. F "Buck" in 2002.

Casket Bearers were: DeWayne Stewart, Steve Thornton, Walter Keller, Ernest Stewart, James Stewart. and Wayne Crespin.

Interment in Shafter Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter, California.
