Funeral Service for Martin E. " Marty " Karda, age 76, of Mentor will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor. Officiant Reverend Marilyn Coney.
Mr. Karda retired in 1983 from the General Motors Plant on Coit Rd. in Cleveland where he was a Production Expediter for 30 years. Was a life long member of the Mentor on the Lake VFW Post #4441, the Word and Deed Senior group in Eastlake and the North Mentor Centenary U.M.C. He also volunteered for Lake West Hospital and the Mentor Police Department-Crine Prevention. He was an avid bowler, golfer and a WW II Veteran.
Survivors included his wife of 48 years, Margaret " Marge, " sons Jim Karda of Mentor, Dave Karda, of Clinton Maryland his Fiancee " Valentine. " Daughter Janice ( Ron Kozlowski ) of Perry; grandchildren-Jason, Shaun and Jackie Kozlowski; Sister Jannette Tewksbury; social family members Denise Cameron, Scott and Donna Angus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stepfather, mother, brothers Albert R. Karda and Charles " Bud " Williamson.
The family will recieved friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the stuff of Homestead II and Lake East Hospital in Painsville for the care they extended.
